I've previously posted on the summer tanager which I've seen at Big Morongo in Southern California. At Tinamu Reserve in Colombia I saw more summer tanagers and got much better views than I've gotten at Big Morongo. They winter in northern South America. Following are some of my photos:

| Immature males are red with yellow that eventually turns all red. I think they are even more beautiful than the all-red males. |
