The chestnut-winged cinclodes is found at high elevations from Venezuela, to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in grasslands or shrubby areas with patches of open ground. It is chunky brown with a white eyebrow and throat.
eBird has 5,158 observations with 626 of them containing photos. I saw several of them at Cajas National Park west of Cuenca, Ecuador at an elevation of approximately 12,000+ feet.
