The golden-collared honeycreeper is a tanager found in the Andean cloud forest of Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. The male has black upperparts, pale blue underparts, although the underparts on the male I saw appeared to have some orange, a blue stripe on the wing and a golden collar, which gives it its name. The female is much plainer.
eBird notes 2,971 observations and 284 photos (by comparison the bald eagle has 65,309 observations and 8,426 photos on eBird).
The crease up the lower chest is interesting. Is that unusual in birds? Seems like it is.
