On my Covid-desert excursions this spring I ran into one bladderpod spiderflower plant, on April 25th.

It is very distinctive with yellow flowers with four petals and six long protruding stamens, some looking like frogs tongues reaching out to grab insects, and others like beggars reaching out for a handout. The fruit is a seed pod that looks like sweet peas with peas inside.
Pretty cool looking plant, but the name wins the prize for best name.
