White-Faced Ibis - Salton Sea

On August 14 I was near the Sonny Bono NWR on Sinclair Road near the Salton Sea I saw a bunch of birds congregated in a flooded field. Many of them were white-faced ibis along with red-winged black birds, snowy egrets and cattle egrets. I saw two ibis start to scuffle and got some interesting photos of them. It involved going after each other with their bills and hopping high into the air.

This helped cement them as one of my favorites.

  1. Wow, amazing photos. I want to know how many you took to get the ones of them jumping up in the air.
