Great-Tailed Grackle

I've seen a great-tailed grackle, also known as a Mexican grackle, previously in Villahermosa, Mexico. I was surprised to see some in Coachella, California this past Saturday while I was eating a Famous Star Beyond Burger at Carl's Jr. sitting in my car in the parking lot. This time I was able to get a photo of both a male and a female.
The females are dark brown above, paler below, have a buff colored throat and a stripe above the eye. They have yellow eyes like the males.

  1. One of the few birds where I think the female is prettier than the male.
