The Panamic fanged blenny, also known as the large-banded blenny, is found in the coral reefs of the following islands in the eastern Pacific Ocean: the Galapagos Islands, where we saw this one, off Egas Port on Santiago Island; Cocos Island (297 miles southwest of Cost Rica); Malpelo Island (310 miles west of Colombia); and Revillagigedo Islands (285 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico). It gets to be about 7 inches long. I'm not finding much about it other than that it appears to be a fish in the saltwater tank fish field and that it has recently migrated to California waters.
What a great name.
