Since seeing the backside of a western meadowlark in February in Live Oak Canyon I've gotten better looks of meadowlarks elsewhere.

| This meadowlark was in Buffalo Lake NWR near Amarillo, Texas. That area has both western and eastern meadowlarks, but I believe this was a western because of its longer and more complicated song. |

He looks like he is wearing a tie, especially in that first photo of him singing.
