I saw a female Audubon's warbler at Corn Springs on Saturday. I saw a male earlier this year in Palm Desert and it was quite flashy. The female is much less so. It is a lighter gray and has less yellow on the crown, throat, sides and back. It is also missing most of the dark highlights.I've previously seen the eastern variant, the myrtle warbler, in Florida.

Subtlety. It's a female trait, right?
