In January 2018 I visited Amelia Island, Florida, north of Jacksonville near the border with Georgia. I'd had a very long day. I'd taken a redeye flight from Los Angeles to Orlando, rented a car about 7:00 a.m. and then drove toward the Atlantic coast and visited the Viera Wetlands, Merritt Island, NWR and Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island. I was staying in Fernandina Beach, on Amelia Island, and Timoti's Seafood Shak was rated #6 in Fernandina Beach by Trip Advisor. I'd looked on-line ahead of time and already knew what I wanted, an oyster po'boy, a lobster roll and a seaweed salad.

It was after dark and I'd been going all day and was very hungry. I was going to get up early in the morning and drive into Georgia to Okefenokee NWR to be there at sunrise and so I decided to take everything to go and take extra for breakfast the next morning (my hotel room had a refrigerator). Timoti's advertises itself as "wild caught seafare," and this was near the ocean and I love seafood.
The lobster roll was better than some I've had and worse than others. It had some large lobster pieces and then other salad fixings in with it, such as rice, mayo, small pieces of celery, Bermuda onion and perhaps radish. It had a nice buttered and toasted bun, although the bun was a little big for the lobster and it needed more mayo or butter.

I'm always in search of the best oyster poh boy, since my very first (and best) one in Newport, Oregon. This one was okay. Kind of like the lobster roll. Better than some, worse than others. The roll was good, the breading on the oysters was not overwhelming and the oysters were cooked okay, not overdone. What it was missing, like the lobster roll, was sauce of some sort, mayo or something. It was too dry.
They did not have the seaweed salad, so I ordered their chopped salad box (which I ate the next morning, along with one of the lobster rolls) which included three types of greens, beets, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, toasted pecans, feta, figs, croutons and a fig vinaigrette. It was actually an amazing salad and still tasted great for breakfast.
If I were to visit Amelia Island again I would probably go back, because I love seafood and I always eat seafood when I'm near the ocean. But I would probably try some other things on the menu.
