The tawny eagle is found throughout Africa, both north and south of the Sahara Desert.
Tawny eagle |
It has tawny upperparts and blackish flight feathers and tail. It has light-colored stripes on its wings and a yellow beak with a hooked black tip. The feet are yellow and the legs are heavily feathered.
We saw one sitting in a dead tree in Hwange NP, Zimbabwe.
