Alondra Community Regional Park is a 53 acre park located just south of El Camino Community College in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County known as Alondra Park. It includes a 14 acre lake known as Alondra Park Lake. I visited last Saturday because I found on eBird that canvasback ducks were being seen there and my goal was to get some good photos of canvasback ducks.
Following are photos of some of the wildlife, mostly birds, that I saw there:

| There were lots of American coots which were by far the most prevalent bird there. |

| There were quite a few Canada geese. |
 |
| A couple of Eurasian collared doves. |
 |
| Lots of fox squirrels, probably the most I've ever seen in a concentrated space. |

| A few ring-necked ducks. |
 |
| Western gulls |
 |
| Lots of mallards - by the time I got there around 9:00 a.m. they were mostly on the ground and sleeping with the bills tucked behind near their wings. |

| A domesticated swan goose - the wild version is found in Mongolia, northern China and and the Russian Far East. |

| And the reason I went there, 7 canvasback drakes and 1 female. |
Nice to see a squirrel in your post, and that's an especially cute one. The swan goose is a little (okay, a lot) weird.
